This weekend’s boxing action (15-16th of july)
After a quiet fortnight of boxing action this weekend boxing is back with a bang with various card globally with titles, pride and overall good quality.
First on Friday from Saarlandhalle, Saarbruecken, Saarland, Germany we have Juergen Doberstein facing former world light heavyweight challenger in Robin Krasniqi. The WBA and WBO intercontinental titles will be up for grabs in this fight. The fight can be seen live on SAT.1 tv station.
Also on Friday there are two televised cards from the United States. Firstly from Mississippi there is a selection of prospects on show including former world kick boxing champion Sergey Lipinets and Tugstsogt Nyambayar who is a former 2012 silver medallist in the Olympics at flyweight. He is campaigning up at featherweight and is currently unbeaten in his pro career. This card can be seen on USA ESPN and Canada TSN.
Lastly on Friday from Indio, California we have the Golden Boy Promotions card which is available to view on Estrella TV USA.The card will also stream live on EstrellaTV.com and on YouTube via Fenomeno Studios. There will be a 2 hour stream from TheRingTVlive.com from 5 pm to 7pm pacific time. On the card Jayson Velez faces Rene Alvarado. Jayson is a former world title challenger to Evgeny Gradovich which ended up a draw. Jayson in my eyes suffered a controversial defeat to Jospeh Diaz JR who in my eyes is going to be very protected by Golden Boy and Oscar de la Hoya.
On Saturday we have from Berlin, Germany we have the return of Arthur Abraham. Arthur will be facing Tim Robin Lihaug for the vacant WBO international super middleweight title. The main event of the card is Giovanni De Carolis defending his WBA super middleweight title against Tyron Zeuge. The card is available to watch on SAT.1 in Germany and available to watch in the UK on Sky Sports 3.
From India we have the anticipated homecoming of Indian superstar in his homeland of Vijender Singh who will be facing Kerry Hope for the WBO Asian Pacific super-middleweight Title. The card can be seen on Boxnation at midnight on Saturday night.
The big attraction from the UK on Saturday is from Cardiff with two world title fights and a domestic bust up which has genuine needle. Firstly we have Liam Williams taking on Gary Corcoran where Liam will be defending his British and Commonwealth Light Middleweight titles. Terry Flanagan will defend his WBO lightweight world title against veteran Mzonke Fana in which should be a routine defence. Then we have world recognised Guillermo Rigondeaux defending his WBA super bantamweight title against Liverpool’s Jazza Dickens. The card can be seen live on boxnation.
The main attraction from the United States is the return of Deontay Wilder in a voluntary defence of his WBC heavyweight title against Chris Arreola. Also featuring on the card we have Sammy Vasquez v Felix Diaz which is a fantastic fight at welterweight. Jamal James v Wale Omotoso, Erickson Lubin v Ivan Montero, Vic Darchinyan v Enrique Quevedo are the other highlights of this card.
