Lee Haskins v Stuart Hall Announced for GGG v Brook Undercard
Bristol’s Lee Haskins will defend his IBF bantamweight title against Darlington’s Stuart Hall on the undercard of the middleweight title clash between Gennady Golovkin and Kell Brook, which is scheduled for Sept. 10 at the O2 in London.
This Domestic rematch sees Haskins defend his title for the second time, having won the belt in spectacular fashion with a sixth-round stoppage of Ryosuke Iwasa in June 2015 and widely outpointing Ivan Morales in his first defence in May. However Haskins was due to face former champion Randy Caballero on the undercard of Cotto v Canelo in November. Cabellero was however 5 and a half Pounds overweight on the scales and Haskins was upgraded to full champion status after previously being interim champion. Hall is out to regain the very same title he claimed in December 2013, when he defeated Vusi Malinga in Leeds and has revenge on his mind after losing to Haskins in 2012 for the European title. Hall lost his belt to Paul Butler in 2014 and lost his last attempt to recapture the belt against Randy Caballero also in 2014.
“September 10 has just become even bigger with this domestic world title grudge match added to the card,” said Promoter Eddie Hearn. “It’s a real 50/50 clash and with the domestic 118-pound scene really hotting up, it’s a must win for both fighters.”
