The main event saw hometown favourite Josh Warrington face off against Dubliner Patrick Hyland. On paper it looked like it would be Josh’s toughest test to date.

However a classy display of accurate combination punching and speed and footwork made his Irish opponent look a league apart from the Leeds man Warrington .

Late in the 8th round a forward attack from Warrington which ended in a chopping right hand forced Hyland to the canvas. A similar attack in the 9th led to the same conclusion before a bruising flurry of punches knocked down Hyland to the canvas again in the 9th. The Referee saw Hyland had seen enough and waved off the fight.

Josh Warrington retains his WBC international featherweight title and his number one ranking I’m the organisation.
