Adonis Stevenson retains his WBC light heavyweight title with a fourth round knockout of Thomas Williams Jr. In an entertaining fight to watch Stevenson showed his physical attributes with a knockdown in the first round where Williams looked in trouble and was lucky to survive. The second and third rounds were back and forth with exchanges from both men but Stevenson’s punches were more telling and were causing plenty of trouble for Williams.

The fourth round was strange to say the least with Williams showing discomfort after a low blow early in the round and complaining of a thumb to the eye from first glance. However this spurred on champion Stevenson with more come forward pressure banging his opponent up close and a inside left hook to the jaw consequently finished the fight late in the fourth round.

It was a good performance and will be due to face his mandatory Alvarez some point before the end of the year. On this performance Adonis still looks a very capable fighter despite his age and interest will grow in his next move. What do we expect it to be ? …. It could be anything.
